Hands-On with the HTC 8S [video]
We have an HTC 8X in the house that we’ll have a review of soon, but in the meanwhile we also managed to check out the HTC 8S today.
HTC’s mid-range Windows Phone features just 4GB of storage (and a microSD card slot) but also has 1GB of RAM, and a dual core 1Ghz Snapdragon S4 processor running WP8.
As a result, the device’s performance is quite slick, with no lag or slowdowns at all. Here’s a quick hands-on video to give you a better idea of it:
The phone is very quick, and that fact alone might make it a tempting enough device, provided HTC gets the pricing right.
Also worth mentioning, is that HTC has used a Super LCD2 480 x 800 pixels (~233 ppi pixel density) 4 inch screen, which looks pretty great, especially thanks to the colorful Windows Phone UI.
The styling is very young, and while some folks arnt too fond of the design, I quite liked it. Especially the design of the bottom row of windows keys. No to mention, HTC’s build quality lately has been fantastic.
All in all, a pretty nice little phone that I think might be very popular. Let’s see how this one goes, eh?
