iPhone 5 To Be Released in India on October 26

Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will continue its iPhone 5 release schedule on October 26 in India, according to a fresh report from BGR India.
“Multiple sources” supposedly told BGR India that the sixth-generation iPhone 5 would be released in India on October 26, which is the fourth and last Friday of this month; this is consistent with the usual practice of releasing a new iPhone on a Friday.
What is most interesting about this report is not that the device is set to be launched in one of the largest emerging markets in the world. BGR India also happened to add that Apple will be distributing the iPhone 5 directly instead of the usual practice of launching the device through carrier partners in India.

Since its release last September 21, the iPhone 5 has been released in a total of 31 countries, most of them located in Europe. This list of countries includes known smartphone markets like the U.S., Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia, but could very well expand to more than 100 countries and 240 carriers by the end of the year.

Apple did not specify which countries or regions would be next in line to receive the iPhone, but did suggest that China and India would be among the major markets in the “emerging” category.
As for China, the iPhone 5 has been rumored to be due for release there by December; as of last week, China Unicom Ltd. (NYSE:CHU) has been preparing for an iPhone 5 release by clearing inventory space, according to those reports.

  1. Price too high. Indian buyers who are 'Price sensitive' and look for 'value for money' will pass. Most of the people who buy iPhone in india want an "exclusivity" status. iPhone is no doubt one of the best phones in the market, but not at the cost at which it comes in india
